Tim and Lily like to dream big and love to help others. When they come across a lemonade stand for sale, they decide to seize the opportunity and choose to buy the business instead of starting from scratch. With creativity, hard work, and the support of their community, they transform the stand into their very own thriving business.
This inspiring story helps young readers understand that you don't have to start something new to achieve your entrepreneurial dreams - you can take something that already exists and make it even better!
Congrats, love this! Trying to find these types of books for my kids, so I'm thrilled.

Well written and well illustrated. It was also a great opportunity for me to review some business-related topics, such as product management, product positioning, and the power of social networks. So, basically, it's also a book for adults!

It's a cute story that would help parents explain the purchase of a business to a child. It's great to see more colourful and engaging books available that teach about work, business strategy and the healthy desire to get ahead by serving others. Highly recommended.

First, and most importantly, it was a fun passion project that I did with my kids. It was honestly the best. Collaborating and working with them was so much fun.
Second, there are hundreds of buy-and-build books for adults from SMB M&A gurus (some reputable, some not), but there’s nothing tailored for kids. This book is for your children, nieces, nephews, granddaughters, and grandsons. This is where the seed must be planted for Entrepreneurship through Acquisition (ETA) to thrive in the next generation. Buying a business needs to be discussed just as much as starting a business.
The truth is, we are raising the next generation of entrepreneurs today. As we guide them, we need to broaden their perspectives, encouraging them not only to start businesses from scratch but also to consider buying local, small businesses—the true backbone of communities around the world. Not everyone is an operator, and not everyone is a builder, and that's okay. It's time to change the narrative at the grassroots level.
I want my kids to believe that they don’t need to start a business to own one or become a YouTuber to be successful. There are many ways to be a successful entrepreneur, whether it's through starting, buying and building, or innovating within larger businesses.
"The Kids Who Bought a Lemonade Stand" is about ETA and the potential it holds. It's exactly what I want every child to read. I want them to view opportunities from an acquirer's perspective because we know deep down that a stronger economy and a better future depend on the transition of small businesses and on people waking up in the morning loving what they do. I genuinely believe that ETA and business ownership are viable paths toward this goal. This book aims to plant a seed and inspire kids to believe that they, too, can be business owners by acquiring an existing, thriving business.
Buying a business isn't just for large corporations, and kids don’t need to wait until a certain age to start thinking about this path. They can start considering it now. Today's kids are equipped with more knowledge and support than any previous generation. The best we can do is inform them about the different options available, including Entrepreneurship through Acquisition.
I hope you all enjoy it!
